Champion workhorse for heavy-duty winching. 3-stage planetary gear train combined with a 4.6hp series wound motor produce 12,000 lbs. of pulling power. Design is low profile so it fits where you want it.
I have replaced 2 motors, every single cable, planateries, soldenoids, connectors and controls all in the last year. Will barely Pull a dodge w/ a cummins up a mild slope thats too icy to get traction. For 1600+ dollars id expect a much better product than this. Warn Refuses to step up and admit there is a problem with this winch.
Funny thing about a winch, it's the greatest insurance policy to have in the middle of nowhere. But you hate to pull it out for yourself, that's like accepting defeat. I have friends that have had thier Warn Winch for more then 20 years. And every time they need it, it works perfectly. That's pretty comforting to know.
Winching truch out o large mud holes. Pulling downed trees to cutting ares, etc.
Is it water proofed, if not which one in your range is waterproof?? for a 2015 Land cruiser workmate.

Hi Bob, This Warn M12000 Self-Recovery Winch is durable, however it is not waterproof. We do offer a high quality 12,000 lb winch that is completely sealed and is waterproof, here it is and thanks for your inquiry. http://www.4wd.com/Jeep-Winches-Jeep-Winch-Accessories/X2O-12K-GEN2-Wireless-Winch.aspx?t_c=18&t_s=300&t_pt=100700&t_pn=S/B97512

I have a 25+ year old Jeep warn wench i have mounted to a bracket on the rear of my pickup to the 2" hitch. The 1 gage hot wire goes to my battery positive terminal. Is there a negative wire or is the ground the contact with the hitch/frame? Thanks JIM S
Asked by JIM from WINTER PARK ,FL on
Hello You should have a ground that goes onto the side of the motor. There is a flat spot machined for the cable. The hitch is a bad ground as it can move and not make contact.

In 1948, Arthur Warn founded Warn Industries to construct locking hubs for surplus World War II Jeeps. Ten years later, the Warn winch was manufactured to fill the need for a reliable recovery tool to aid off-roaders stuck in challenging situations. Since then, Warn has grown to offer a wide range of gear with the hallmarks of durability and affordability. 1988 spawned the aftermarket industrys first ATV winch and today their PowerSports line of winches ranks among the most esteemed in the industry and jeepers call on Warn for electric, hydraulic and severe duty components that get the job done.
