4WD Hardware Billet Distributors main body is machined from a single piece of high strength aircraft quality aluminum and stuffed full of top shelf electronics to provide you with a strong and reliable ignition system.
This was the perfect setup for our old cj-5 golden eagle. Installed in a little over 2 hours with refreshments and was an immediate improvement over the old Smithsonian distributor. Would recommend this to any one with a distributor your a little unsure is getting the job done.
Anyone wanting more power and reliability for a few $$ and a short install time needs this conversion. The hardest part was giving the underhood wiring a "diet". Very easy install...best value out there!
Hello, I have a 73 cj5 with a 304 v8, I want to order the HEI Billet Distributor and I need the part number for the correct plug wires and the power lead. Do I need special plugs as well? Thanks ,Brian

Hi Brian The HEI Billet Distributor will work great, the power lead is PWP30809 and the wires would be UIWHEI9076R. I found Auto Light plugs have always worked better on the AMC engines and will allow you to gap them 50-55 thousandths. Thanks

I have a CJ7 w/304 and points distributor. I want to change the distributor out for an HEI-type like the HEI Billet. Will this work? If so, do I need to change the plug wires and existing coil also?
