Upgrade with Stainless Steel Brakes disc brake conversion kits. These SSBC kits are available to fit many applications to upgrade from your present braking system for more stopping power.
This was to improve brakes on old CJ8. Also bought 1 pc. axles which does not work well with this item. Even a professional mechanic is having a difficult time. Additional factory parts required.
Rotor will not fit over a G2 one piece axle. Center of rotor must be enlarged. Installation is straight forward other than that

Hi JBP The pad number for the Rear Drum to Disc Brake Conversion Kit would be a market number D347 number. Just make sure you use a good quality metallic pad. Thanks

Should I change my proportion valve with this conversion? What brake pads and shoes do I use to replace them? 2001 Cherokee Sport with Chrysler 8-1/4 rear end.
Asked by leggament from Vancouver Wa on
Leggament, A proportioning valve is not required and will work fine with the factory master cylinder. The pads and rotors are available as replacements from the manufacturer. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Why wouldn't this conversion work with a 76 CJ5 (as its only listed for a CJ7) with the AMC20 axle with the moser 1 piece axle upgrade? Both vehicles are a narrow track with the AMC20 Axle.
Asked by Craig from PA on
Craig, I apologize for the confusion. The Stainless Steel Brakes Disc Brake Conversion Kit will work with the CJ5 and CJ7 with the one piece axles. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!
