The COMP Series difference
If you’re after a winch equipped with a state-of-the-art synthetic rope, look to the XRC COMP Series for the ultimate in pulling power. Triple Mounting Options for the XRC Control Pack Smittybilt understands winches are used for a large variety of applications and has introduced the industry's first Triple Mounting Solution for the control pack. You now have the option of moving the control pack to allow increased airflow to the radiator or gain easier access to the control plug.
Easy to install & looks great. Seems very solid after first use. Only negative the winch controller is so big it’s hard to hold naturally and still reach the togle switch.
Fits and looks great with SmittyBilt bumpers – I have the XCR The winch arrives in gear, which makes it easy to roll in the chain/rope initially. It then moved easy to neutral in order to manually pull some slack. Next I could never get it back into gear. Fortunately a 4wd store is nearby and they were able to finagle it and show me the trick. Thank you 4wd Tampa! There are only a few spots on the gear rotation that allows users to turn the engagement handle 100% from neutral to engage. Trick, while in neutral – power the winch either in or out in small increments. With each stop/partial rotation, try to turn the handle to engage. Some stops will allow you to 90% engage, but I recommend ensuring you 100% to minimize any undue stress/slippage with the teeth.
I installed this winch on a XRC bumper and couldn't be happier with the results. A lot of winch for the money.
For the price, you can't beat this winch. Works great everytime, and I KNOW I can count on it. The synthetic rope means it's light and a ton safer than steel cable.
EASY TO INSTALL,LIGHT WEIGHT,LOTS OF PULL POWER,SYNTHETIC ROPE VERY FORGIVING AND EASY TO WORK WITH PLUS VERY STRONG-LONG AS ITS NOT MAJORLY OVER LOADED BUT EASIER TO REPAIR IF BREAKS HAPPEN THAN STEEL CABLE.
Synthetic line snapped and broke in half using the winch... I've had the winch less than a month and only use it twice. Will not buy their products again

What is the total weight of the winch and tow rope? Also I am thinking about mounting it on the Smittybilt SRC Stinger bumper. Would it fit without having any modifications done to the bumper?
Asked by Ghost from Mississippi on
Hi Ghost, This Smittybilt XRC 12K GEN2 Comp Series Winch comes with the synthetic rope and weighs 66 lbs. It works great on the Smittybilt SRC stinger bumper, and you'll need the appropriate winch mount plate depending on the year Jeep you have. Thanks for your inquiry.

My 1st Gen Smittybilt winch burned up. I am looking to replace it with this one. Does it mount with the same mounting plate? Or are these different?
Asked by Bryan from Raleigh, NC on
Bryan, the Smittybilt XRC-9.5K Winch Synthetic Rope Gen2, With Aluminum Fairlead has the same 10x4.5" bolt pattern as the Gen1 winch, so will mount to your existing winch plate. I hope this helps!
