The all new line of Smittybilt XRC bumpers was engineered to provide maximum ground clearance. Manufactured out of 3/16 inch cold rolled steel that is robotically welded to exact specifications. The front bull bar is manufactured from 1.75 inch tubing and has two light tabs that can accommodate up to a 9 inch light. Its unique design is capable of mounting up to a 12,000 lb. winch.
This bumper is a great bumper for the money and has good quality welds on it the frame brackets are better then some that I have had come with bumpers. The only thing that I wish they would do is have a stinger bar option like they do for the jk,yj and tj xrc bumpers. I contacted them asking if they would custom build one and they said they were booked on time. Im hoping they come out with one soon so I don't have to fab one up.
Nice bumper especially when you factory in the cost and free shipping. Bolts up easy, nice fit and finish. Be prepared to break some of the factory bolts. I broke a steering box bolt and a bumper bracket bolt. The hardware that is supplied is quality stuff. I ended up installing the bumper myself but would be easier with two People.
So the instructions sounded easy enough... For my 1996 XJ, the bolt holes were already on the Passenger side... Just a little wallering needed... Trouble Comes when you try removing the steering box bolts... I had two break off and now left having to drop the gearbox... Ultimately.. I changed Power Steering Pump, Hoses and Gearbox... Added ~$400 cost to the bumper... Bumper was heavy to manipulate... I Must admit that once installed it does look pretty good... With the XRC8 Winch installed, it did drop the nose a bit... So plan for it...
Don't confuse the bumper shown on website with what they deliver. There is no tubular "Bull Bar". The unit looks very strong (not installed yet), looks to be extraordinarily well built and takes 2 guys to lift. Not what's shown, but much more heavy duty. A good platform for my winch.
in the 45 sec video it shows a built on pull bar but the pictures don't show it and it gives you the option to buy one. I'm confused if this xrc rock crawler bumper has a pull bar or not

Hello 907Driven, The Smittybilt XRC Rock Crawler Winch Bumper with D-ring Mounts does not have a bull bar. You can purchase the XRC Front Bull Bar Option part #S/B76811 that bolts right on. Thanks for your question.

Will the Bull Bar option mount onto pre-made holes already in the bumper or will I have to drill the holes myself for the attachment?

Steve, The XRC Front Bumper with Winch Plate S/B76810 has the bull bar holes integrated into the bumper.

How much does the bumper weigh? Trying to figure how much the extra weight will affect nose drop. We have a stock 96 XJ Classic and love the way it handles.
