The ultimate vehicle protection. Constructed of heavy-duty 2?x.120? E-coated powder coat steel tube, these side bars are built to take on the roughest terrain.
Picked them up yesterday got home and installed them. Took me longer to get my nerf bars off. These rock rails fit perfect bolted right up no modifications. They were so easy to put on I was able to do them myself took about 15 min a side.
This ten minute bolt-on application took me over an hour because the holes would not line up with the bolts, which required modification and less than a glove like fit around the bolt-holes since they had to be ground out. I got these particular rails to protect against rocks and people who throw open their car doors. It protects against car doors, but I wouldn't trust them on the rock or whatever obstacle they might come in contact with. I had a few buddies with similar issues with their Smitty XRC modular bumpers.
I got all but 1 bolt, got the other one the guy above didn't by grinding hole out some to get it to fit. If you like the looks and do not plan on bashing on them get them. If you need a real rock slider find something else. I have slide on them and it handled well but a steady diet of rocks will be stretching it.
Pain in the posterior to bolt on. It was a actually impossible to get two nuts on. One from each side. So I only have 3 per side, but it should not be an issue.
Brought it home, packaged pretty nicely. Put the first one up, holes weren't even close. The large opening was too narrow to go around the body bushing. After 2 hr of grinding, put it up, take it down, grind some more. I got the first one installed with help after 2 hrs. Second wasn't quite as bad. Bolt holes were off about 1/4 of a bolt on all 4 holes. If this is an example of their workmanship, I will never purchase somthing with their name again. Definately would not recommend this unless you have a grinder and alot of spare time.
Had to grind and drill on both sides, did not line up it was off about 1/8 to 1/4 inch. Also they were marked passenger driver this was wrong but easy to figure out.Called customer service at one point before buying this and asked about the lining up and was told it was corrected. If you don't have a lot of tools would not recommend. If you do it will take some time but it looks great when finished. If it would have lined up correctly, with an air wrench and jack I would have had it done within a half hour it took about 2. We really need to stop buying things made in China.
I was looking for a bolt on Rock slider but I really liked the look of these. Please update the description because drilling is required
