Soul Train, the Smittybilt Hard Top Hoist need to be mounted on the rafters and needs a minimum of a 7' ceiling height. As for the door clearance you want to mount it so the door won't hit the top when it is raised. Hope this helps!

Will Smittybilt sell only the lifting frame for those of us that already have a hoist in their garage? I have a 2200 lb capacity hoist already in my garage.

Mitch, the Smittybilt Hard Top Hoist is sold as a complete unit only and cannot be broken down in to piece parts.

If I have limited height in my garage Could I use this product to lift the top off the jeep ,but not all the way over it,and drive the jeep out from under it ?
