A Clinometer is a must-have for all you articulating off-roaders who like to push your Jeeps to the limit. The meter separately shows if your Jeep is in the danger zone of pitching or rolling. The meter on the left shows the degree of pitching and the meter on the right shows the degree of rolling. A Compass situated in between the meters is a great addition for those of us who do not know which direction we are headed on those trails that meander through the mountains. Installation is easy with the double-sided tape provided. The Clinometer does not light up.
Bought this to learn more of pitch and roll. I was told no need for item due to " to late to tell you after you have rolled" Well I hope I don't mind a little assistance. Compass is not that detection able . Stays mostly on north east for me although I have another compass in same jeep does the same thing.
I guess if I used it more often that it would be a better item, maybe if I traveled or went off-roading more. I had trouble installing it because it wouldn't sit flush on the dash, the mount was warped. I removed the adhesive tape and just placed a piece on either side and it works fine. It is cheaply made and I don't recommend it.
Very affordable. Looks great up on the dash. Compass can be useful.
