There’s nothing better than pulling an icy, cold beverage or crisp, refreshing sandwich out of your Smittybilt Arctic Fridge/Freezer during a hot day out on the trail. The 52 quart is large enough for extended forays into the backcountry, yet still sized to easily fit in the back of most 4x4s.
The Arctic Fridge/Freezer’s ultra-efficient compressor can run on 12 volt or 110 volt to provide temperatures as low as -22°F in conjunction with thick 55MM polyurethane insulation. State-of-the-art LED controls are recessed to protect them from damage or accidently being altered, and the three-stage automatic power cut off to ensure that your vehicle’s battery has enough reserve capacity to start the engine.
Once you figure out how to set it and how to pack it,it is way better than dealing with ice
This sits with a smaller footprint then the ARB, and is a little taller giving you more room on the dairy tray. The fridge is supposed to have 2 power modes, a max cooling and an economy mode (for when on battery power) and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to change the modes. The user manual states (In improper english) "press the SET button till ECO is displayed" (did you spot the improper word?). However when I do this on my unit it displays a selectable range of codes from E1 to E5 and F1 to F3. None of these seem to change the LED light next to the ECO/MAX power mode to green so I have no idea what they do. I emailed Smittybilt for clarification and they told me to call in, apparently none of there technicians have the ability to answer a simple question via email. I'm kind of regretting that I didn't step up and pay a little more for the ARB.
