Is there a need to cut any of the Jeep LJ body when installing these flares/protection - both in the front and rear? If there is cutting required, to what extent and are the instructions useful enough for this instruction (assuming rookie weekend warrior and rookie shop tools)?

KCJ, yes the Smittybilt TJ Armor Package does require some cutting. The majority of the cutting will be on the front fenders. You have to cut off the top layer and reuse the inner fender. I personally have installed 4 sets of these fenders and they can be done in a day with basic hand tools. If you do not have a reciprocating saw you can buy, rent or borrow one and it will go a lot faster.

Yes they do. The tube fender is cut to make more room for bigger tires.
