Replace your worn out soft top just in time for the summer season with the Rugged Ridge Bowless Top Systems. This distinctive fully enclosed design quickly converts from a full top to a Savannah top, taking you from ceiling to sky in seconds and eliminating the need for the bulky OE soft top frame. Precise engineering allows for a secure and formed fit over the factory sports bar. Supplied "whisper bars" dramatically reduce wind and road noise commonly associated with other frameless soft top designs. These Bowless Soft Tops also feature useful zippered mesh corner pockets for extra and convenient storage. As an added bonus, the soft top design also allows you to use more affordable aftermarket windshield headers (Rugged Ridge part number RUG13308.06 recommended).
Good top without the bulky factory hardware when folded down. This is a good, solid choice for a replacement top. It allows re-use of some factory hardware, thus keeping cost to a minimum. Nice fit and well thought out design allows this top to be used as a full bikini top with a storage for the windows. Design also includes two zip pockets for small item storage. Quiet at low speeds, some whistle/wind noise at highway speeds, due to old-school header attachment system. My only complaint, with all the top advancements, you would have thought that for the TJ model they would have used the compression latch header system or given you the option to reuse your factory header latch system from the old top. Instead you are left with the old school windshield header. While it is simple and easy to use, it can rely on two people to install it and often during the worst time. There is a reason this header style was redesigned!
I was more impressed with the Rampage top, because of the protected storage of the windows.
If I never had an OEM soft top, other than the windshield, are any other headers required for installation?

Does this top come all the way off? Can I go completely topless?, without a whole lot of trouble? I have a hard top and want a good soft top that I can take all the way off.

Duck, the Rugged Ridge Bowless Soft Top doubles as a bikini top, but does not come all the way off. You will want a Supertop NX, found here: http://www.4wd.com/Jeep-Tops-Jeep-Top-Accessories/Supertop-NX-with-Tinted-Windows.aspx?t_c=75&t_s=459&t_pt=3382&t_pn=BST54722-35

2009 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited w/factory Hardtop: What other parts for installation will I need? I already know about the windshield HEADER, which I would purchase from you. Is this a NO DRILL installation? Mike Lucas

Hi Mikd, This Rugged Ridge Bowless Soft Top will need door surrounds and the tailgate retainer bar since your Jeep has a hard top now. Thanks for your inquiry.
