Matt, the Rugged Ridge Nerf Bars attach self tapping screws in holes you drill in the frame. As for the distance the stick out, it will be around 4" to the end of the tube from the body. Hope this helps!

Do these look like the picture? I read the installation guide and they said the right and left side are the same? How does that work with the pads?
