The perfect solution for those hard to handle Jeep hoods! Each hood lift kit features two gas shocks and all the necessary mounting hardware to turn your manual opening hood to a soft opening hood design.Once installed, this hood lift will hold open your hood when fully extended. Replaces that cumbersome hood prop!Double shocks assist in hood opening making it easier and more convenient to work on your engine or check fluids.
The product design is not bad. Directions are very poor. Example calling for a 5/64 bit to mount the bracke t where the prop rod was mounted, wrong use 1/4" Watch clearance and fit with caution on drivers side. Potential rod to shock interference issues. I flipped the shock over inboard to get clearance. I swapped in mt own bolts when possible "stainless" & Nylocks on the cable clamps. Ill modify later and weld the bracket on and eliminate the cable clamps. The radiator rods should be re enforced to remove the flex of the shock pressure
Will this work on a fiberglass hood?

Hi Pat, According to the manufacturer this kit is designed for the original steel hoods, however if you add some wider washers for the supplied mounting brackets to distribute the weight of the mounting points it should work fine on the fiberglass version as well. Thanks for the inquiry.
