Great product and looks good but the holes did not line up at all which made it very difficult to install
Be ready to loosen the fenders. On the passenger side I couldn't get to the plug for the lite,I think removal of all the plastic parts has to be done, and ended up cutting a slit to get around the wires. On neither side did the mounting holes line up. Either on the gas cap or the lites or the license plate. Make sure you put plugs in the plate mounting holes before installing. Instructions leave a lot to be desired.
Supposed to be no drill. Everything included. NOT. Started on left side. Remove lite and licence plate mount. Tried to line up holes, not even close. Line up the gas inlet ok and the tail lite and licence plate holes don't match. Line up the licence plate holes and the tail lite and gas cap holes don't match. OH! and don't forget to mount your plate before attatching the corner. Also you will need to loosen the fender flares, or cut the corner guards. Have a drill and a dremel handy. The hole for the lite plug may need to be enlarged. Needed to drill new holes in the guard to get the screws through. Took me 3 hrs to do the left side.
It's a great looking product. However;on the install I was expecting the left(Driver)side to be the most difficult;I could'nt have been more wrong. On the other side is where I had the most problems due to the GREAT people at Chrysler. The simple fact that they were'nt very generous with the pigtail wiring that causes you to have to remove the right inner wheel well and traverse the evap. canister to access the connector.Other than that it was pretty simple.
2008 Rubicon Is the license plate holder part of the product or do I re-use the original one? Also, your other corner guard (11651.07) is a little more expensive. Does that mean it is sturdier? Can I screw these in if I wish? The installation instructions would not download.
Asked by Rick from on
Rick, the Rugged Ridge Body Armor Corner Guards would be the corners only. The license plate bracket would be reused. The corner guard 11651.07- is a different finish, which is why there is a difference in price. I hope this helps!
