We make these shims from solid steel for maximum durability. Designed to handle the rigors of trail use, these shims actually become part of the spring pack. Many other shims on the market float between the spring pack and the spring perch reducing the engagement of the center pin. Our design will not come loose or fall out. Can be used front or rear to set pinion angles. 2.5 inch wide springs only.
Brought my driveline geometry right where it needed to be.
I have a 1990 Toyota 4runner SAS with a dana 44 up front. The previous owner had not corrected the pinion angle, and welded the shock mount tabs directly on top of the housing. Under the truck, it appeared that the pinion flange pointed directly toward the back of the vehicle and at a downward angle. The custom front driveshaft that was sold with the truck would bind so bad, it could only be turned by pulling the shaft off. I bought these shims after measuring how much clearance I would have with the drag link on my TG high steer kit. After drilling the 1/4 hole out to 3/8, and after finding a longer bolt, these 8 degree shims pointed the pumpkin up just right to allow the front shaft from binding, even at full flex. Solid steel shims won't break like aluminum ones you find elsewhere. Don't be cheap, buy the steel shims you won't regret it. Also alot cheaper than having a shop cut and re weld all the mounts on your front dana.
Shims came with center pins... information said it came with them and also said it didn't come with center pins.... so I ordered them thinking it didn't come with them and now have a extra set. Irritating...
Are they made of steel or aluminum?

Hi Tinman, These Rubicon Express Degree Shims 2.5" wide X 2 Degree Steel are made of steel. Thanks for your inquiry.

What is the height of the shim. The reason I ask is that I purchased a steel 8 degree shim from a fabricator in California but it was the same size as a 6 degree aluminum shim from Omix-Ada. That wouldn't work on my Jeep. I need a true 8 degree or at least the same size as the Aluminum Omix Ada 8 degree.

Hello They don't give us the dimensions of their shims. I know for a fact if they say they are 6 or 8 degree's they are. I have included Rubicon's phone number so you can get the spec's you need. (916) 858-8575
