6 months ago I bought a Rubicon and the words out of my 5’3” wife was something to the effect of how fast I could get steps on of some sort. Well since I’m disabled the regular tube steps won’t cut it for me. Second of all since I do wheel pretty hard core I can’t have anything down there hanging around that’s going to get ripped off. Then low and behold, into my life comes Rock-Slide Engineering. Their steps have handled the abuse they’ve received so far just fine and I’m confident they’ll take a whole bunch more. The big advantage is my wife can get in fine and I have no concerns at all about doing some suspension work and putting 37”s on next. Keep on wheelin’ and try to keep the rubber parts down.
I had a chance to get up close with these steps at Overland West in Flagstaff. I purchased the steps even though I didnt yet have my new 2019 Jeep. The day I got the Jeep, I lifted it, put 35 BFG KM3's and the Rock Slide Engineering steps. They are amazing! My wife is 5'2" and she can get in and out of the jeep with ease. I was out at Sand Hollow Park in Utah and ran "The Fallen" trail - although I took some bypasses, my sliders still got a work out. Thank you RockSlide for an awesome product.
Installed these with ease after fully reading the instructions. Took a few hours and they work great. Don’t forget to order the door delete kit if you plan on riding without the doors and want the steps to still operate.
What is the functioning weight capacity of this item? How difficult is installation?
Asked by EJ from WV on
EJ, Unfortunately the manufacturer does not list a weight limit for the steps but will hold anyone that would use the Jeep. Installation is fairly easy and does require drilling. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

How low does this set go? Would I need an extension? Do you have to drill both the side and floor? I I have a 2008 jeep renegade X. It it raised 4". Thanks FredK

Hi Tinker, This step-slider from Rock Slide Engineering fits great on the JK 2 door models with a 4" suspension. We do not have specific dimensions from the manufacturer to determine how far it drops down, but you will not need any extensions. We do not have a PDF file on the instruction sheet to determine how many holes are drilled. Thank you for the inquiry.
