Rock Hard 4x4's winch plate is designed to be used with the factory bumper on your JK Wrangler. The best part about this winch mount is that it requires no cutting to install, this is a bolt on winch mount. Note: this winch plate will not work on the 2013 Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition because of the factory supplied front bumper.
I wanted to put a winch on my 2015 Rubicon but didn't want to lose the factory bumper. This was just what the doctor ordered. Set aside a whole day to mount this and your winch. The only drawback I had was that one of the supplied bolts was pretty near impossible to get threaded. I spent probably two (2) hours just on that one bolt. At some point, just as I was about to give up, it started. I don't know what the problem was, but I know I will never take it off. I got the look and functionality that I was looking for.
The install was straight forward and easy. Some items were hard to get at but doable. The only issue I had was one of the supplied bolts was too short. On the drivers side, the is an extra piece of steel welded on the frame from the factory and the supplied bolt hit the lock washer before any threads caught. Having the bumper off I wasn't able to run to the hardware store so I omitted the lock washer and used loctite on the threads. I've read this complaint before so hopefully the manufacturer will pick up on this and supply a proper sized bolt. The plate uses the factory tow hooks. There is still some room to use them but I'm not sure if it will be enough. Otherwise this is a great product for those who want to mount a winch on the stock JK bumper.
High quality item for the low cost. Will do the job, once the winch is attached?
Very useful, no need to change the bumper. Fair price, easy to install.
A perfect way to add a winch without having to change out the front bumper. Took about 2 hours for the mechanic to install and that included having to remove/reinstall aftermarket sway bar skid plate.
I installed the plate on a 2013 Jeep Wrangler. The product required no drilling. I had to remove the front bumper which was very simple to do. I installed a Champion winch I purchased from Sams. The plate holes and winch holes matched perfectly.
Great product, it fit perfectly. Very easy bolt on winch plate. It looks great installed.
Are the factory tow hooks still usable with this winch plate? 2008 rubicon

Hi Dan, This Rock Hard 4x4 Parts JK Factory Bumper Winch Plate utilizes the standard10.0" by 4.50" mount pattern that virtually all winches use, we don't offer the Champion but it most likely uses the same pattern as other brands. Great questions, thanks for your inquiry.
