It took me over a month to install by myself in my garage. I highly recomend leaving the other 3 tires on for stability while raising the corner you are working on. I have about 200 miles on this lift. Hang tight when driving over 45 mph. Uncomanded lane changes and very top heavy with the hardtop on. I can't comment on the ride. It seems softer but I also installed new tires at the same time. The inside diameter of the front brake lines supplied where too small and caused my front brakes to drag after the pressure built up to a certin point in the calipers. I swapped them out with a new set of Rubicon front brake lines. The inside diameter is a little bigger, and so-far, so-good. I should have just went with the 2.5" lift. I think that would have suited me better. This lift makes it hard to get in, and now my Jeep is top heavy.
The 2inch Sport lift is GREAT for the weekend warrior. I put it on my wifes 09 JK to give it something a little special. Rides great and she loved it.
this is a great kit.Massive lower arms (pictures do not give a good size ratio) overall great ride and driveabilty. it has a 3 peice bushing design which are easy to grease(you have to use a vise or press to install bushings into arms).the hardest part of the kit was the shims for the control arm to frame backet bolts to take up space between bushing and bracket. i also upgraded my kit (RECOMMEND) with the RANCHO UDJUSTABLE UPPER ARM KIT,front lower arm bracket skid plates (protects grease zerk fittings on the arms) and 2 rear lower shock mount brackets to gain more room between shock body and rear spring peirce. you may also need a longer rear brake line ( i used a 3 peice stainless brake line kit i had already) this kit also DOES NOT come with shocks . (2000 TJ Wrangler Sport)
Nice lift kit for the price, installed mainly for looks.
This lift is a great, inexpensive option to get a bit more offroad clearance - breakover angle in a stock 4dr JK is brutal. I went from scraping most rocks to none on one trail. The highway & street ride is just as smooth and stable as stock, and I have the option of softening or stiffening the ride with the 9000XL adjustable shocks. The install was easy for a lift kit, and although the instructions said to disconnect the drive shaft, it wasn't necessary. A spring compressor is a handy tool though, with the extra length of the Rancho springs.
Good ride and didn't lose gas mileage
The kit is very complete (except for shocks) including extended brake lines, adjustable front track bar and rear track bar bracket. All components are heavy duty with grade 8 or better anodized hardware. The instructions are very good with pictures where needed and all hardware bags are labeled. Removing the existing components was harder than the installation since I live in the rust belt. The ride is good when combined with my new RS9000 shocks, no bump steer or other issues.
why does this 3.5" kit show a 35" max tire height, but all other 3.5" lifts are just 33"
Asked by michael from United States on
Hey Michael, the Rancho 3.5 Inch Sport Lift Kit says 35 inch because Rancho goes by more of a true max size (squeezed under the Jeep). Most other companies goes by max comfortable size so you still have flex room. Thanks for your question.

Will I be able to fit 35in tires with this lift
Asked by Rich from Norfolk, va on
Hi Rich with running the Rancho 2 Inch Sport Lift Kit with RS5000 Shocks you may have some rubbing with 35's. If you go with a 2.5in lift that will be perfect and you can fit 35's no problems. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. Thanks,

Lucas, the Rancho 3 Inch Trail Lift Kit will give you a level stance and more than enough room to clear the 35's you're looking at. Let us know if you have any other questions!
