The ES1000 performance series shock is designed to replace the factory shock and provides optimum performance, enhancing driving comfort and vehicle control. Utilizing a 1 3/ 8 in. nylon banded full displacement piston head and double welded shock mounts, this shock assures strength and long lasting durability.
They compliment my .5" rear springs on my 5th generation 4runner nicely.
Recieved my shocks the day after placing the order. It has been a week & they all are still not installed on my 1980 CJ7. They come with roll pins inserted into the bushings that will not fit over the Jeep shock mounts (of course this is not shown in any of the stock photos or desctriptions of the shock). They also come with hardware that includes alternate size roll pins (none of which fit by the way) but leads you to believe that switching these out is an option. Who really knows though becasue there are no installation instructions included. I hade to use a vice & sockets to remove the roll pin sleeves. Once out the holes in the bushings closed up so tight I had to use a big C-clamp to force the shock onto the mount. This caused the bushing to shift slightly in the eyelet on the shock. After much forcing & prying I finally got one shock installed & the buhsing seated properly. What should have been a 15 minute job has turned into hours. I will never purchase a pro-comp shock again. I should have sent these back as soon as I saw the roll pins.

Asked by muffnman from plainwell, mi on
muffnman,if you bought a lifted vehicle and you want to replace the shocks with some ProComp Suspension ES1000 Series Shocks, the best thing to do is remove one of the shocks and measure to see exactly what you need.
