what does the 4.5 backspacing mean?

Can you tell me how far these wheels will stick out past the fender flares with 33x12.50 tires on a 2004 wrangler thanks

Hitch, the Pro Comp Alloy Wheels Series 7032, 16x8 with 5 on 4.5 Bolt Pattern - Flat Black will make the tire stick out about an 1" - 1.5" further than the stock tire and wheel setup does passed the factory flares. I hope this helps!
