This product is nothing like it is represented to be. Worked on trying to install it for over 6 hours. Did not succeed. It was advertised as being simple and easy to install. It is neither. The instructions are very unclear and the pictures provided are even worse. I am not a novice mechanic, I do all my own work on my Jeep. I will try it again when I have the time but I am not optimistic.

A couple of hour job actually turned into a couple of day job...only because of other axle bearings and seals that needed replacing. Highly recommend you go ahead and replace bearings/seals while you have the axles out. The lockers themselves were easy to install in my '82 CJ-5. Put them in the front axle (instead of rear) since the only time I'd use them is in 4wd. Did great in some tough rocky trails. Only 4 stars because I've only put them through one tough test so far. But so far, so good.
Works exactly as described. Excellent product for the price. Makes a light racheting sound while engaging and disengageing however it is barely noticed from my full exhaust and intake on my engine. The spacing is very specific so make sure your clearances are as indicated in the instructions and it will work perfectly fine for you. Great product!
I have installed three of these now. Two in my own jeep dana 30 front dana 35 rear. This 2004 wrangler will go anywhere now. My jeep had the thin ring gear. Locker was installed inside the diff without removing the carrier. My brothers jeep same 2004 dana had a thick ring gear I had to remove the carrier and install the locker on a work bench. Still installed in about 1HR. Note you can remove the carrier without moving the pinion there for no set up is required just re tork the carrier. I also noticed that a tube of Differential Friction Modifier helped on the harsh releases. I used Equa-Torque. from Sta-lube. great stuff.
This unit keeps you from beating up your Jeep. I love it. Just crawl over anything.

Hi Mudder The Dana 30 Lock Right Locker will work on your Jeep but it will effect the steering and if driving on the road will want to do the steering and make it a chore to drive as it is always locked up when accelerating. Thanks

I have 2015 JKU I am planning on doing a gear swap to the G2 set up G/24-JK-456 will this locker work with this set up. Also will I need to purchase anything else with the gear set? (Carrier?)

Hello, The Power Trax Dana 30 27 Spline Lock Right Locker will work for your open carrier. If you have 3:73 gears in your JK then a carrier will not be needed.
