Designed to help full-sized pickups work hard on pavement, then work just as hard when roads are muddy, snowy, and rockyor when there are no roads at all. The Open Country M/T combines solid on-road performance with extra ground clearance, higher load-carrying capacity, and greater ability to go off-road. Truck enthusiasts know it for its long wear, low noise and aggressive tread pattern. An aggressive all-around light truck radial specifically designed for lifted pickup applications. The aggressive tread can crawl through any mess, while the smart lug placement and design provides precise, quiet driving on the street.
These are high quality compared to other brands I have used (grappler) in the same basic size. The rubber is pretty soft yet tough. They balanced with very little weight. So far they handle much worse than I would have expected. The tall little lugs seem to flex a lot around corners. Pro Comp xterrains were like road racing tires compared to these. I feel a 4 wheel drift with ease. The tread has a VERY rounded arc to the 13" width. On a 10" rim, it rides on a 6-8" center at full pressure with a 8,000 pound Superduty. Full tread contact is at about 35-40 psi. OK in mud, but FAR from a mud tire. Good tires, very quiet and great in rain and snow / ice.
this tire out rocks all the others.
Is this a bias ply tire or a radial?

The Toyo Tire company was founded in 1945 in Osaka, Japan as a manufacturer or everyday tires. In 1953 Toyo Tires built a factory in Itami, Japan. In 1966 the company established an U.S. headquarters during the U.S. auto boom. In the 2000's Toyo Tires entered the off-roading tire market with the very well received Open Country line.
