The rugged .125” thick, powder coated 100% aluminum tread plate construction connects to the frame of the Jeep creating a lockable, secure, water resistant storage area. The innovative clamp system secures the BackBone to the inside lip of the Jeep frame, creating a clean look with no bolts or visible screws. Unique design with only three pieces that bends down behind seats to totally enclose rear cargo area. Works with OEM and aftermarket soft tops. Easy assembly in about 30 minutes.
Love it. I don't use my back seat so this lets me actually use that room back there to lock stuff up. Install was super easy.
I got this thing a couple weeks ago, and so far I love it! I can finally lock my golf clubs up in my jeep during the summer and not have to worry about them! The first time took about 20 minutes to install, because I had to put all the gaskets on, but you only have to do that once. Once the gaskets are on it will only take about 10 min to remove/install. Only thing is I wished it would work with a hardtop. With a little modification to this thing I'm sure I could get my hard top to sit ontop of it though. Also, once I installed the tool bar gaskets, I wrapped some electrical tape around them to help protect them when installing/removing the trunk. But seriously, this has got to be one of the most useful things I have ever purchased in my life (besides my Jeep of course) and so far I love it!
Installation slightly longer than 30 min. Nice clean fit up and clean lines. Very secure. The rubber gasket with predrilled holes was for an earlier configuration. Connected up with Backbone customer service via their website. They called me back within 20 min on Xmas eve. The gasket was easily modified to line up with the holes. Am anxious to see if still able to fold back soft top all, the way. Will try that when the rain stops.
Can this be used with a Brute Half top?

Hi Sped Man, This Jeep Backbone Security Enclosure manufacturer does not have any info regarding various tops that will work with it, it's a trial & error situation. Thanks for your inquiry.

Does this require the tailgate be opened to open the enclosure? How do you access the storage?
Asked by Jeephreakiwon from Las Cruces, NM on
Hi Jeephreakiwon The tailgate is the lockable part that you access using the Security Enclosure. Thanks
