Designed for the value conscious buyer who is running either a stock or mildly modified engine, Hooker Competition Headers offer premium features at a very competitive price. Made of durable 16 gauge mild steel tubing, the Hooker Competition header design utilizes a long transition collector to reduce back pressure and increase exhaust flow. A perfect sealing surface is assured with the 5/16 inch machined flanges, with welded O-ring seals. Experience has proven that this flange size is ideal to maintain header integrity and be pliable enough to seal each exhaust port. Tubing is mandrel bent to maintain metal strength and provide consistent tube diameter at radii to maximize performance. Hooker Competition Headers have a standard finish that features a heat cured, high heat resistant paint. Optionally, the famous Hooker Ceramic Thermal Barrier Coating is available.

Exhaust ports are wrong!

Got my hooker header in the mail yesterday only to find that the exhaust ports are the wrong shape. AMC V8s use a dog leg style exhaust port. These headers are rectangle shaped. Called holley performance and they do not make a dog leg style fender well header for AMC V8s. They will bolt up and probably seal but your flow is going to be restricted.

They don't work on a lifted jeep with big tires even 33's

They are not built for a lifted cj the drivers tire hits the header hard about 1/4 turn

dont buy if your jeep is lifted just got off the phone with hooker their designed for a stock jeep who has one of those now a days the headers hit the tires

Horrible design hit driverside tire 1/4 turn not worth [$] for that horrible design driverside sticks way out into the wheel well pass side is perfect

Why do they design these for stock Jeeps instead of universal fit

These are designed to be used on Jeeps from modified to stock. As long as your vehicle doesn’t have a crazy suspension or body modification, these will work great.
