G2 Master kits include all the parts that are needed to properly install a ring and pinion. These G2 kits include hard to find parts like a proper shim kit, replacement pinion nut , crush sleeve, pinion seal, pinion bearings, carrier bearings, ring gear bolts, silicone sealer, locktite and gear marking compound. these are the parts that the auto parts store never seems to have or ever herd of.
I am a rookie at this but have spent hundreds of hours researching because I want to learn how to do everything myself. In the description it says “G2 Master kits include all the parts that are needed to properly install a ring and pinion. These G2 kits include hard to find parts” It definitely doesn’t come with everything you need! The thing I was really mad about is that it didn’t come with carrier shims because it specifically says that it did. It also doesn’t come with oil slingers, baffle, or inner axle seals. It is almost missing as much stuff as it comes with. I was fairly disappointed. Just know that you are going to have to order a bunch of other stuff, make a list and order once because I had to pay for shipping 3 extra times! Part of that is definitely on me but the description is pretty misleading. Learn from my mistakes. Overall the stuff that does come with the kit is very high quality but just know that it does not come with “all the parts that are needed to properly install a ring and pinion.”
Good kit that I would highly recommend any time you have it apart. You will need a bearing splitter and puller to get the carrier bearings off. The online instructions were excellent and I really appreciated having them, resulted in a much smoother and quiet rear end. But they lacked torque specs for the bolts and in particular the pinion yoke. That was the biggest hassle of the job, other than that, I was very pleased.

During my Dana 30 axle rebuild on a 94' Jeep YJ, I'd like to ensure I receive all of the seals necessary for axle. My vehicle make and model is a stock 1994 Jeep YJ 2.5 L. No modifications beyond a rear Trac-Loc on the rear Dana 35. My front is a Dana 30 and is vacuum actuated for the 4WD. In addition to the G2 Master Overhaul Kit, could you please recommend what other seals I definitely require and any other parts you would recommend that I replace at this time. I'm requesting your input from the differential itself all the way out to the hubs. Timkin Hubs, replacement bolts - 12 point, and Spicer Ball Joints (Upper & Lower) are currently part of the plan. The axles do not appear to need replacing. Driven this Jeep 2x to Central America from Michigan. I've never rebuilt the front end. Please give me your best assessment on what parts I will need (especially those I haven't mentioned), along with others you would suggest I replace. - Chris in Kalamazoo

Hey Zoofactory, the G2 Axle and Gear Dana 30 Master Installation Kit comes with everything you would need in the differential itself. You may want to get new axle u joints and axle seals. When it comes to ball joints and tie rod ends I would recommend you have a shop check to see if anything is bad. Thanks for your question.
