Our quick release push pin gives you easy access to opening your hood and won?t be lost thanks to our attached stainless steel lanyard.
Installation was a snap, but reaching the lower bolt on both sides was a little tuff. Instructions didn't say to do so, but removing the grill clip made it much easier to reach them.
Look great on my Jeep JK 2008
Works well, looks good, but hard to install. Lower turn buckle channel narrows when tightened to body making reassembly on vehicle challenging
These hood latches were the perfect thing i needed to stop that hood flutter. Some things i would like to mention though. They are easy to install, but one side will be more of a pain than the other, just because lack of space differs on one side. I would also like to mention that i was missing the rubber hood rest on one side and I'm very glad i got these because with the stock latches it was starting to rub the paint off with metal on metal, but with these latches you can set the "depth" (i guess you could say) so i set it to where the hood sat just off the metal, and no more rubbing, perfect!
I used the Drake Off Road Hood Hold Down to replace my factory hood hold downs because it has a tough and mechanical look. The product is very well made and includes rubber gaskets to go between the plastic and paint on the hood. Its just a well designed product that looks great on the Jeep.
Money well spent !!!!! This should be a factory option !!!
After experienceing hood flutter in my JK, I started looking for something to stop it. I like the look of the Drake latches. I looked into building my own from stainless steel parts, and the parts total ended up being close to what Drake charges. My home built latches wouldn't have looked as finished as Drake's either. I have them installed on the Jeep and they look awesome. It gives the Jeep a very aggressive look and I get compliments all the time, and the hood never moves now. I selected "hard to install" as a con, this is a result of how the Jeep is built not Drake's design. If you can handle a wrench you will have no problem working in the tight quarters under the hood.
will I need to drill new holes or will this fit in the existing holes I have a 2006 Jeep Wrangler.

These do fit a 2011 Jeep Wrangler JK Sahara right? The description say yes but when I select the hold downs it tells me they won't fit my vehicle. Just making sure before I order.

Why is the reason this will not work on a '15 Saraha?
