Riding in a Jeep is great fun except for the vehicles propensity for interior noise that makes it difficult to hear conversations or enjoy your stereo. Now there is an easy solution. Boom Mats new sound deadening headliner is a simple peel and stick kit that dresses up the interior of Jeep hard tops while minimizing annoying outside noise with high quality marine grade acoustical foam that resists mold and mildew insulating you from outside heat or cold with an R4 value. The headliner reduces noise levels 3 to 4 decibels.
I added these to complete the look after installing the headliner kit. Of both the headliner and side window kits, this was the least impressive. It simply didn't fit right, so to install it into the space, it bunched up. This resulted in a less than desirable look, compared to the headliner. The headliner looks great and clean, almost factory. These side windows look a bit more like an amateur hack job, and that was a big disappointment. Perhaps it was my install job. I'm not sure how I could have done it better, though. Perhaps better instructions from DEI. Functionally, they work as good as the headliner. They cover the space adequately and reduce overall noise in the cabin.
I installed this a couple of days ago, and it installed easily. It includes filler strips to make the area level, and these came in different lengths. Some matched the slots, but others didn't. I think these could have been better aligned to slot length. So, end result is, at 70 mph, I noticed a pretty big difference as wind noise at speed mostly affects the roof noise. Really a big improvement of sound at highway speeds. Sound is also better controlled in the cabin from the stereo. It sounds better, and I don't have to turn it up as loud.
These look great in my Jeep and seem to help with noise and heat retention.
I have only installed the front pads. There is an immediate and noticeable improvement.

can it be installed without removing top?wrangler unlimited 2014.

Hi Jim, It's best to remove the top to install this headliner, it'd be difficult to install properly with the top on the Jeep. Thanks for the inquiry.
