This is a very solid kit. It had almost everything I needed. I installed a pair of nerf bars with this kit that mount to the bottom of the body mounts and needed 4 longer bolts. A quick trip to a local hardware store solved that problem though. After a week of daily driving it with the body lift, I can say that the ride is as good as with the factory mounts. One recommendation is to have a way to get broken bolts out, just in case. One broke one me, but the rest came out easily. The only modification required was on the metal collar on the bottom of the mount. It needed a small amount of material shaved off to fit in the hole. I like how my wrangler looks with the body lift, and it's now easier to wash between the frame and tub.
Looks like nothing different was done to the Jeep, but it rides and handles soooo much better than the factory stuff! Best price for a complete kit, also.
it is a decent kit but dosent come with everything like it says. needed to order new mushroom spacers as some of mine were not usable anymore. if I would have know I would have bought another kit that had everything.
Will this work on a fiberglass body? 79 cj5

Hi Jj, This Prothane Motion Control 1 Inch Polyurethane Body Lift contains the urethane bushings which are not recommended on the fiberglass since they are so hard, however we do offer a mount kit made for the glass tub. You can cut the mounting rubber into what ever length you'd like to accomplish the body lift. Here it is, thanks for your inquiry.http://www.4wd.com/Jeep-Suspension/Fiberglass-Body-Mounting-Kit.aspx?t_c=1&t_s=20&t_pt=6963&t_pn=OAI12201.03

I have a CJ5 with a fiberglass tub. Will this kit work?

Hads, the Daystar 1 Inch Body Lift will NOT work with a fiberglass tub. You CAN NOT use any body lift with that kind of tub. You will need to get a stick of body mount rubber and cut it 1" over stock for a lift. Hope this helps!

I installed this kit, or one like it on my 93 wrangler with 2.5 motor and manual trans. I also added 1 inch spacers to the motor mounts. Now I have difficulty shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. Is there any adjustment that would remedy this problem?

I have run into this same kind of issue before on my own stuff and to fix it you don't need to buy anything. If you remove the rubber shift boot that is attached to the floor you can see where the shifter has been hitting the body tub. You will need to take something like a Dremel tool and cut away a little bit of the tub where it makes contact. I ended up cutting about a 1/2" of the tub away and never had another problem.
