New Round Tubular Hitches are a no drill installation. They are a Class III Hitch, designed for the Class III towing customers who need more than 4,000 pounds Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) and less than 10,000 pound GTW capacity. These Hitches offer the greatest value for mid-capacity towing customers. Come in a Gloss Black Powder Coating. Hitches require a shipping surcharge of $9.95.
I had my Jeep dealership install this on my 2004 Rubicon. The dealership told me they were concerned that although it installed properly the receiver tilted up about 10° or more from being level with the vehicle. They thought this may be a problem. It is and I can not get a trailer off once hitched and the trailer digs into the bottom of the ball. I have the same experience with three different trailers which all worked fine with my light duty (but level) Mopar hitch. After explaining the problem to FWD with the MFG rep on the line, they told me to shim the attachment to the frame by a 1/2" or so to try to level out thier hitch to the frame.
This hitch looks great, fits perfectly on my '06 Wrangler TJ and installed in under a half hour. Have a good socket handy to break the bumper bolts loose and something to support the hitch during the install. Also lube the welded in nuts in the frame rail prior to installing the new bolts. Will help in case you ever need to remove the hitch.
This hitch receiver is about as easy as it gets to install. I had to remove the tow hook on my '07 Wrangler which was held in place by three bolts, and install this hitch which is held in place by four bolts. Total time spent including removal of tow hook was 25 minutes. This is one of the easiest equipment installations that can be done, and even the most technically challenged person could do it. Requires a 19mm socket and a wrench to hold the nuts while tightening down.
Will this hitch work with a 2016 Wrangler Unlimited with the factory Hard Rock package.

Does this hitch have a place to attach the electrical wiring? Also why does it cost over twice what the other hitches cost?
Asked by Johnny from Texas on
Johnny, the Curt Manufacturing Class 3 Series Receiver Hitch does not have a specific attachment for the wiring. When it is not plugged in to a trailer, you can loop it through this hitch so that it does not hang down. I hope this helps!
