Ok, some jeeps you can put a seal from the frame to the windshield, and then one smaller on the outside to seal up the windshield to the other seal "windshield weather strip seal" (my name) When I ordered this I wasn't sure if I needed just this one, or both? Even when I googled- I was just as confused... INSTALLATION: I've seen reviews that said this seal was about 4" too long, and if you put in onto the windshield, or even the frame it is... HOWEVER, "if" 1) you put the seal around the windshield. 2)Then, set the frame on the seal/windshield and then using the rope method to pull it up over the lip of the frame the length is just right! 3) patience and a whole lot of cuss words will get you through this installation...
6" TOO LONG TO FIT THE FRAME. THE GLASS INSTALLER WASTED TIME TRYING TO MAKE IT FIT. WE HAD TO USE AN ACRYLIC SEAL TO FIT THE GLASS TO THE FRAME.4 WHEEL DRIVE HADWARE WILL NOT TAKE THE SEAL BACK AS A DEFECTIVE RETURN. YOU ARE STUCK WITH AN ITEM THAT YOU CANNOT USE. YOU ARE WASTING MONEY PURCHASING THIS ITEM!!!!
Bought this to replace orginal gasket while replacing windshield glass. After setting up an appointment with the glass people to install a windshield, we dicovered this gasket was 6 inches too long and unusable
Tried using this seal, had to force it to fit in the frame and not have any excess (it is a one piece seal circle with no ends, you don't trim it). Cracked the glass trying to get it to fit, had to order new glass, glass company had to order new seal. Save yourself the expense of the new glass and just get a new seal from the local glass shop. It may be 3x the price, but at least you won't have to replace the glass too!
Does the glass need to be removed from the windshield when replacing this gasket?

Hello Mike! Yes this Crown windshield glass seal is the rubber seal that goes around the glass to hold it in to the frame. Thank you!
