Hey Richard, the Borgeson Steering Heavy-Duty Lower Steering Shaft will convert to using a double u-joint but will bolt in the same as stock and you won't have any problems. Please let me know if you have any other questions, thanks.

i have a 4 1/2 inch lift by fabtech. and the heavy duty manual steering shaft by borgeson says up to 3 inch lift. will it not be good or go with my 4 1/2 inch suspension

Hello Nick! Your Wrangler has a suspension lift kit on it, not a body lift kit. The Borgeson steering shaft can be used on any Jeep with a suspension lift, regardless of the lift height. If you have larger than a 3" body lift, the slip shaft in the steering shaft would not be long enough to compensate for how far away from the frame the body tub would be. For your application this shaft will be perfect!
