Borgeson Steering Adjustable Power Steering Shaft - 910

universal fit logo

The OEM Jeep CJ steering shaft assembly was not intended for the added stress of lifted bodies and oversize wheels and tires which cause premature wear. Borgeson manufactures a direct bolt-in heavy-duty replacement shaft assembly that includes a slip shaft, collapsible shaft and precision needle bearing u-joints. The steering shaft assembly is easy to change with common hand tools and you will experience vastly improved steering precision. Fits 1976-86 CJ power steering. Heavy-duty assembly.

porely labled on the web great product

Steering shaft is awesome! This is for Power Steering and porly labled as such, I bought the wrong one and when I called, because I installed it to find out it was the wrong one there was no attempt to make it right, had to order lower part from manufacturer for an additional $80 wish the website clarified that there were two options!

Is this adjustment a slip type joint? Do you adjust it to a certain length and then it stays there or does it slip in and out as the body twists and flexes? an 83 cj 7 with over axle lift and lift springs with 1 1/2" body lift

Asked by Dick from Monroe NH on

Dick, the Borgeson Steering Adjustable Power Steering Shaft has a slip joint in it that will allow it to move as the body and frame move. Hope this helps!

does this unit work with body lifts and how long is the adjustment?

Asked by from on

Hello, This is a stock replacement shaft. When you lift your Jeep you will need to extend the steering shaft out. This shaft has a collapsed length of 26 inches and extended length of 33 inches. It should adjust a good 5-6 inches out.
