I have a 87 wrangler with a automatic transmission a/c p/s p/b. It is a old Oklahoma Police vehicle. It has a 4.2 258. The vin# is a special number issued to police vehicles. I am hoping this engine will be a direct fit for the trans and motor mounts?. Thanks for your time.

Hi T I will need the VIN to verify it with ATK about the 4.7L Baja Stroker Jeep Engine fitting properly and availability at this time. Thanks

According to website this is a direct replacement for 87-90 wranglers(4.2 motor), but it says it replaces the 4.0 that came in wranglers in 1991 and after, can we get clarification on which Head it uses.

Hi DDTR The 4.7L Baja Stroker Jeep Engine fits 1987-1990 only and has the 686 head on it. Thanks

As the largest private label crate engine remanufacturer in North America, ATK has been around for over 80 years producing parts including high performance engines, transmissions and rear axles. When your Jeep needs an engine rebuild, an ATK remanufactured engine uses reverse engineering processes to virtually eliminate factory defects that hinder performance. One reason ATK is at the forefront of engines is their adherence to thorough cleaning and inspection techniques and their machining and magnafluxing capabilities.
