The positive manual engagement/disengagement of cable lock is prone to failure and it allows for disengagement on vehicles equipped with a front locker. Very useful when making a tight turning radius off-road. Add the option of 2WD low range with full control from inside the vehicle and this is a must have item for your off road vehicle.
product was fairly easy to install as i am not a mechanic. So far seems to far outperform the factory vaccum system.
After the last time I got stuck in mud and snow because the vacuum actuator didn't work, I knew this was the ticket. Installation was fairly easy. The hardest part was figuring out where I wanted to mount it.
If I were to run a mini spool in the front with this cable actuator, would that mean decent road manners and great offroad traction? Or is it just a recipe for disaster?

Hello Rich, The Alloy USA Jeep Differential Cable Lock Kit wouldnt be sufficient to run a spool. I would not recommend a spool in the front unless it is an off road only vehicle. Also I would convert to straight axle even if you are going to go with a locker. Keep in mind when you are locked up in the front it will affect your steering.
