This conversion package comes with the parts necessary to make installing a Chevrolet 4.3L V6 or V8 engine in your 1980-1986 Jeep CJ Vehicle as trouble free as possible. The 1980-1986 Jeep CJ's utilized both 4 and 5 speed manual transmissions. The 4 speeds being used during this time were the SR4, the Borg Warner T4 and the Tremec T176. The 5 speed during these years was the Borg Warner T5. These transmissions are adequate for most conversions with moderate horse power and tire size. The Advance Adapters CJ Bolt-In engine mounting kit placing your new engine has never been easier. The Bolt in kit utilizes existing mounting holes from the factory engine mount locations. These stock holes combined with the custom geometry of the Advance Adapters mounts make for a perfect engine fit every time. ** Please note that when using the bolt-in mount kit you will be requires in most cases to move your transmission forward to meet up with the engine. This will ultimately result in new drive shafts being required.**

Advance Adapters got its start in Downey, California in 1971 with a single adapter mating a Muncie car 4-speed to a Jeep Dana 18 transfer case. Eventually headers, overdrives, motor mounts and linkage brackets were added to the offerings to complement their core adapter components. When interest in rock crawling spiked in the mid-1990s, Advance Adapters offered low ratio transmission swaps then switched gears into the ultra-low gear transfer case arena.
