Finally, no need to lose your cool over the high cost of an aluminum radiator! 4 Wheel Drive Hardware now offers an ALL ALUMINUM high performance radiator for Jeep CJ’s at an affordable price! All aluminum, furnace brazed, all welded construction with no epoxy, glue, or gaskets. These radiators are designed to handle high pressure cooling systems and use stamped, reinforced aluminum tanks, high capacity 1 inch aluminum tubes in a 2-row tube design, heavy beaded hose connections for maximum sealing and crack resistance, and heavy duty mounting flanges for maximum strength and the ability to mount anywhere. Included are a built-in transmission cooler and a billet, all aluminum anodized filler neck.
Is there any reason I couldn't use this radiator to upgrade the stock radiator on my '83 CJ7 with the 258 L6? I understand I'd need an electric fan, but I like that it has an integral trans cooler since I do have an automatic transmission.

Hello Colt44, These aluminum radiators have different hose locations and the mounts are different than the 258 motor. As for a bolt in replacement this will not work you will need some customer work in order for it to fit. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask, Thank you.

Where are the ports for the trans cooler lines? On the right side or on the bottom? Do you have any detailed dimension sheets for this radiator?
Asked by Scott from on
Scott, The trans cooler line ports are visible in the photo of the radiator. They are on the right hand side and each one has a white cover cap installed. The are directly above the bottom outlet and petcock. As far as dimensions, here is what I have measured for you: Radiator body - 23-3/4" wide Radiator body plus mounting surface - 27-5/8" wide Overall height - 19-1/2" tall Mounting holes are 7" apart Trans cooler lines are 10" apart Please let us know if you need any more info.
