It's nice to know that Bestop has you covered if replacement of your windshield header assembly becomes necessary.
The stock header is actually all plastic. The one on my jeep did not sit flush with the windshield so I had tons of wind noise and would have leaks during heavy rainstorms. This part is a plastic outter with metal insert. Its great! I would have rated it 5 stars if 4wd could have shipped it without it getting broken. Unfortunately, they do not include packing material so the tabs arrived broken twice. They finally got it right the 3rd time, now I have 2 extras in the garage waiting on ups to pick up (I doubt they will). As for installation, that was a fight. My top is in great shape so it was still on the jeep. We discovered that it was easier to unhook some of the top frame work than trying to install the header while fully attached to the jeep. It came with a few pieces of foam padding but no instructions as to where they were supposed to go. We discovered the more irregular shaped pieces went on top of the original padding near the windshield. We still have two skinny rectangular pieces that never found a home. All in all this part is great. It really improved my comfort when driving and tightened up my soft top. So glad we made this repair instead of buying a new top.
I have a 2008 jeep wrangler JK. If I have the pavement ends sprint top on my jeep, will this header fit with that top?

Is the insert for this header metal? Or are both section plastic like I have seen on several other jeep sites.
Asked by C. Matthews from on
Hello, this Bestop Windshield Header Channel is made of metal and plastic, it is made just like the Factory OEM one. Thank you!
