Fits into interior of factory console. All welded construction with hinged lid, integrated lock and two keys. Lock box is powder coated black for a long life. Attaches conveniently beneath the drivers seat using OEM seat riser bolts. Excellent location to conceal valuables. Does not interfere with drivers seat adjustment. No drill install.
I think the most important feature about this security console, which I do not see pointed out anywhere, is the Bestop security console lets you keep using the factor upper console tray, whereas the Tuffy security console requires the upper factory console tray to be removed. That is a huge difference to me. My only complaint is that you can only open and close it with the key. So, you can not just unlock it when you get in the vehicle and lock it when you leave, you have to unlock it every time you want to use it. That is because the key can not be removed unless it is locked, and there is no handle to open it with other than the key. I am going to experiment with making a handle and just turning it to the locked position without closing it, so I can remove the key. The Bestop security console is actually heavier gauge than I was expecting and does provide good security. However, you do lose some storage space at the bottom of the console where it widens out, but the security console has straight sides that are the same dimension top to bottom as the opening at the top. I think this in unavoidable with any security console, otherwise it would not fit.
My existing factory console has a USB port and 12v plug inside. Does this have cutouts in the front to allow access to these, or will it block them and make them unusable

Hi 14 Willy No the Interior Console Lock Box does not have the cutouts for the plugs per Bestop. Thanks

Will I still have access to the power outlets in the console?
Asked by Ron from fairburn, GA on
Hi Ron, This box fills the console so you won't have access to the outlets if they are in the console. Thank you for the inquiry.

What size is this box? Could it be used for storage for a concealed weapon?

Hi Rod The dimensions for the Interior Console Lock Box are 5 3/4 X 6 inch on the top, 8.5 deep and it tapers as it goes down. Thanks
