Skyjacker Suspension Lift Kit With Shocks. Whether you're looking for a mild lift to add larger tires or looking to make an off-road monster Skyjacker has a lift kit for you.
Coming from the world of Jeep CJs to my new JK I have a question. What is the difference between "short arm" and "long arm" kits?
Asked by THier from on
THier, welcome to the world of JKs. The short answer to your question is articulation. Either style kit will give you the lift from the springs, but a short arm kit (like this Skyjacker 4 inch Lift Kit with Shocks) will mount in the stock control arm brackets on the frame. The long arm kits give you a longer control arm that will mount to new brackets you attach to the frame. With the long arm you will get more down travel (articulation). Also moving where the control arm mounts closer to the middle of the frame will give you a smoother ride, but you coming from CJ to a JK this ride is smoother already. If you plan to wheel your Jeep hard a long arm kit is the way to go. But that also means new driveshaft, brake lines, etc.
