Custom design bolts directly to factory mounting points on the rear of the vehicle, very similar design to the OE Receiver Hitch. Durable powder coat design sheds water and provides a long lasting rust free finish. Designed as a one-piece welded assembly for added strength, we built our hitch receiver to match the towing capacity of your Jeep: 3,500-lb tow rating, 350-lb tongue weight rating with weight distributing equipment. Otherwise 2000- lb tow rating, 200-lb tongue weight rating, 2" opening. The included wire harness is made to the original equipment specifications and plugs into the existing wiring harness, keeping you from having to make frustrating and costly modifications to the vehicles wiring.
I bought a Jeep this past year and have a trailer needed a hitch so I found this product and purchased it. I employed the help of a friend who has done tones of off road installations of after market products. 28 Min later the Hitch assembly was on and everything lined up exactly as it was suppose to... without fail this was the easiest and best built aftermarket product either of us have ever installed. Excellent marks!!!
Looks and performs as you would expect. Installation is simple but a little tricky keeping the nuts in place while threading the bolts into them. Would have been easier with the proper tools. (not being a big mechanic, I didn't have a boxend wrench that fit the nut).
fast free shipping, easy installation, great hitch.
Hard to attach nuts and washers but other than that awesome!
I used on my 2015 Jeep Wrangler Sport, it was easy to install and functions well. Very pleased the kit came with the electrical plug. Electrical installation instructions were great, and functions well.
Great price....delivered quickly......easy install!
The Q/A states that the nuts are welded onto the plate, but they are not. You must push the bolt through the frame and hitch, then place the washer onto the bolt end with no room to hold onto the washer, then place the nut onto the bolt end without losing the washer. You have about 1/2" of space to perform this dance. I found that I had to super-glue the washer onto the hitch plate, then super-glue the nut onto the washer, then install the hitch. I'm a pretty good mechanic, but this did not have to be so difficult if they had just welded the nuts as the tech had described. Wiring harness was a perfect fit. Be sure to remove the driver side taillight to get to the wiring harness plugs.
It is east to install and works great.
This is a great hitch at a great price point. The one thing I will point out to everyone on installation, is everything I have read, including on this kit instructions says to remove the rear bumper and tow hook to install. I cannot point out enough, you do not need to do this. Slide the bolts with one washer in from the front, then using needle nose pliars from the back side install a washer. Using an open ended wrench and a piece of scotch tape you can tape the nut in place to your wrench to get the nut started. Takes a little caution to get it lined up but works just fine and saves you tons of time. I installed the hitch and harness with this method in my driveway, being interrupted a few times by my 5 year old son, and still finished in a total of 47 minutes!
The available space for putting the nuts on the bolts is mesger. probably more a jeep Design issues than a hitch design issue
I have a 2014 Rubicon X with the Rubicon X Package Metal rear bumper. The MOPAR hitch "MOPAR® Hitch Receiver with Wiring Harness For 07-16 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK" say it is not for the 2013 or 2014 Rubicon 10 or X package.. Wil this hitch work for me or is there another I need to order?
