PRODUCT OVERVIEW

This kit provides improved handling opportunities for those with the 30 front axle applications. Kit will replace the outer passenger steering knuckle with a new custom manufactured high clearance steering knuckle. The steering arm position is raised, which restores the drag link factory position and returns ride quality to stock levels. The new high strength tie rod and drag link with new tie rod ends will increase the long-term durability of your overall system working in conjunction with the new knuckle. *Installation requires cutting off the sway bar end link mounts and re-welding them in a different position for tie rod tube clearance.

great for mall crawling

I ordered this for it's reported durability and strength, plus it said high steer. As is this is not a high steer kit, (the tie rod installs below the knuckle in the stock location), the tie rod and drag link are 3/8 thick hollow aluminum tube, in a word WEAK! This system would be better if the tie rod was DOM or solid steel. it installs easy but the first trip out I hit a rock while traveling in low range (4:1)first gear and it destroyed the tie rod, bent it in horribly.

not really a high steer kit.

This kit is not a high steer kit like the title states, it is a crossover kit that separates the drag link and tie rod. The tie rod is installed under the knuckle not over (in stock location). This coupled with the aluminum tie rod is sure to end with a bent tie rod. A better solution would be to have two (not 1) new knuckles that allow the tie rod to be stalled from the top of the knuckle keeping it out of the way from rocks and other offroad obstacles. it'll work but it's not what they say it is.

Will this work on a cherokee xj with a 6 inch lift. If not why?

Asked by cherokee from pa on

Cherokee, Unfortunately the TeraFlex High Steer System will not work on the XJ. This is due to the XJ not having a frame and would not support the track bar modifications that would have to be made. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!
