In 1997 they used a grommet style that clipped into the doors. Half way through 1997 they superseded into 1998 using a slide style attachment on the seals. In all of 1998 they used slide style attachment and in 1999 (to current) they switched back to the grommet style.
Hardest part of this install was getting the old one off. The clips require pliers to get them off. But save the rubber bands on the old clips. The replacement part includes the clips but not the bands. They may not be absolutely required, but I'm guessing they provide extra insulation and sound dampening. The whole job can be done in 15 minutes.
