Hello; Just opened my Dana 35 and found a Trac-Lok carrier with 3.07 gears. I have a 01' TJ Wrangler and am upgrading to 4.56 gear set but already bought a open carrier and have mounted the new ring and am ready to install. When I cracked the cover and saw the Trac-Lok I am now concerned I have to stay with a trac-lok carrier. Can I use the open one? Will there be fitting issues? What about performance? Any help will do brother! B.

Hi Lord beef You can use the open carrier but you will also need to get the spider gear kit to install in the center. You will only have one wheel drive on the rear axle with the open carrier, if it spins the other side will not engage like with the track lock. Thanks

I purchased a 2002 Jeep Wrangler TJ Dana 35 rear end housing. I have not removed the rear plate yet, my question is does this rear end housing automatically come with the trac-loc locker from the factory? Thank you for your support and Happy Holidays to you and your staff.

Tommy, I believe that the 2002 TJ could go either way as far as the Trac-Lok is concerned. The best way I can think for you to test it is to get the axle up off the ground and spin a wheel. If they spin in the same direction,it's a limited slip.If they spin in different directions,it's an open diff.
