The last thing you want to happen on a trail ride is to lose the only thing that keeps your engine running: gas. That's why Rugged Ridge has custom designed this Skid Plate to protect the fuel tank on 1997-2006 Wrangler. These overbuilt skid plates are a must for those who want that extra bit of protection for their off road adventures. Constructed of durable 3/16 inch thick powder coated steel with a rust resistant E-Coating, this Skid Plate is designed to take whatever the trail throws at you! Bolt-on installation using existing frame mounting locations. This skid plate replaces the factory skid plate providing you true protection.
Do I need to also purchase straps?? And if so what kind.

Hi LS, This Rugged Ridge Gas Tank Skid Plate does require 2 straps, one for d/s and one for p/s. Here they are, thanks for your inquiry.http://www.4wd.com/Jeep-Engine-Performance/Gas-Tank-Strap.aspx?t_c=74&t_s=433&t_pt=4782&t_pn=CRO52100235AD

I have a 2000 TJ Wrangler, and I am in need of a gas tank skid and in my many searches I have found that most manufacturers specify that their skid plates can not but used with a body lift in place, I currently have a 1" body lift to accommodate my high clearence tranmission skid plate, will the Rugged Ridge model work with a body lift? It does not specify in the details I have read here and on other sites.
