I have a 2000 TJ with 115000 that had what were probably the original shocks. They were all a leaky mess. I replaced the fronts with Skyjackers last year. Loved them. Huge improvement. This year I did the rear. If you've ever changed old shocks out on the rear of a TJ you know the awful pain of broken shock bolts. But I thought it would be worth it for the new Skyjackers. Totally wrong. These are WORSE than the old shocks with 115000 miles on them. A bumpy road (slow) will make you seasick. Literally, no exaggeration. I admit that at highway speeds they seem to work beautifully, but if you are going 0 to 35 on a torn up road or rough trail you are in for some serious up and down. Since my TJ is a daily, around town work vehicle and an occasional trail runner I am hugely disappointed in my choice of these shocks.
I bought these shocks to replace some very stiff Rough Country 2.2 shocks. The RCs were so stiff that if I hit a series of bumps on a dirt road, you would loose all the fillings out of you teeth. So for my recreation use Jeep Tj I needed to soften things up a bit. The Skyjacker Hydros are much better, softer but not too soft to street daily. Very satisfied.
