I have a 3.5" RE lift and wanting to the the t_case drop. My question is what would be the best size drop for my lift. I've seen drops from 3/4" to 1.5" thanks in advance.

Asked by ben from Hammond, LA on

Ben, You normally want to lower the transfer case as little as possible so we would normally recommend about a 3/4" to 1" drop, so the Rubicon Express Transfer Case Lowering Kit 3/4" XJ/ZJ will work fine for your application. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Will I need a floor jack to install this or can I do it with the Jeep (xj) sitting normally? Are there any other tips/tricks I will need to know for installation? Thanks, Jay

Asked by Jay from Colorado on

Jay, I would advise using a floor jack. That skid plate can get pretty heavy when you are under the Jeep holding it up with one hand and trying to start the bolts with the other. I would start spraying the factory bolts right now and every day with penetration oil, also now would be a great time to look at the transmission and t-case bushings for replacement. Other than that it is a pretty straight forward job.
