This is an update on my rear bumper/ tire rack. Great design and very usable. A tip for those that have had trouble with the bearings. My first set of bearings gave up the ghost after 2 years. I do have a heavy tire/ wheel package and dual fuel cans mounted to the carrier. I purchased a replacement set locally (less than $20) and this time followed the directions. The castle nut needs to be torqued to 100 lbs. I admit I simply "tightened" it on my initial install. Since replacing the bearings and properly torquing the castle nut, I have had no problems. The rack operates smoothly with no signs of trouble. Just my 2 cents.
It looks Great installed, But getting to that point was a pain. There's little to no instructions. You have to modify the license plate holder or the latch won't work right. Once you figure where all the parts go and how they mount it goes on pretty easy.
INSTALLED BODY ARMOR FRONT BUMPER FEW YEARS AGO STILL LOOKS NEW SO I BOUGHT REAR BUMPER AND THIS SWING ARM
Iv had the bumper and tire carrier about a year. The fit and finish on both is great. Im on the second set of bearings on the carrier. First set disintegrated after about two months use. Manufacturer sent a replacement set free of charge. This set is starting to droop like the first. Several others are experiencing the same trouble. Id take it off and scrap it if I had the stock parts. Also have the Hi Lift jack adaptor but this part wont work unless the gas can carrier is installed on the passenger side, which isnt mentioned anywhere in the description of the part.
Where can I order the adapters for the Hi-Lift Jack and gerry can mounting brackets as discussed in the overview? I am ordering this tire carrier along with the bumper (JK-2394) and wanted to catch things while on sale.
