I have a 2007 Wrangler X 2 door. I am pretty sure that I bought it with a Dana 30 front differential and a Dana 35 rear. I have made no modifications to the axles since I bought the vehicle brand new. Can you confirm that these are the type of front/rear axles this Jeep model came with from the factory?

The 2 door 2007 JK Wrangler rear axle is difficult to diagnose without seeing the vehicle, your front axle if it is a non-Rubicon model is a Dana 30. In 2007 Mopar used both the Dana 44 and although it’s extremely rare, some models had a Dana 35 for rear axles. The best way to determine your rear axle is to crawl under the Jeep. When looking at the axle you will find a stamping on the webbing around the differential cover this stamp will either have a 44 or 35 on it. You might have to look for a little bit to find it, but every Dana axle is stamped with a model number - the stamping is not on the diff cover, it will be located around the cover on the actual housing of the axle. You will see this from the rear of the vehicle only. If you need any more help identifying the axle, you can give our Gear Squad Drivetrain experts a call at 800-914-0065.
