The "BTF Jeep CJ Front Tube Fenders (DIY Kit)" is a great product choice for the home builder. This kit comes with all the pieces you need to build your own tube fenders. The kit includes steel plate pieces that bolt to the grill and to the tub. It also includes fender tops that have a large flange on the inside of the engine bay for mounting accessories along with 1-1/4"x.120 wall tube that is bent to connect the grill to the tub. All of the plate pieces are laser cut from 1/8" high-strength steel. This is a builders kit. This kit has to be welded together and is shipped unpainted
My original fenders had rust holes, so I chose these as a replacement. You need a torch to heat up and bend the front grill mounts. Can't easily reuse inner fender(I cut out sheet metal and made my own). Removal of old fenders and associated parts attached to them, install, welding, re-installation of electrical parts on fenders, took about 4hrs.
How wide are the fenders at the front end? these will go on a 1979 cj5.

Will these work with a fiberglass body?
Asked by Shane from So Ill on
Hi Shane! Yes, you should be able to use these DIY tube fenders on your fiberglass CJ body tub. The only issues we have found is that you may need to open or elongate the mounting holes on the fenders to accommodate for any differences in the fiberglass body tub mounting holes.

Does this product come with inner fender wells to keep debris out of the engine compartment?
Asked by 80Renegade from on
80Renegade , there is no inner fender included in these Blue Torch Fabworks DIY Tube Fender. Like most of these tube fender weather it be a kit or already assembled you are required to use your factory inner fender.

Blue Torch Fabworks, Inc. was founded in 2001 specifically to fill the market gap for Jeep parts for the DIY at-home garage builder with moderate fabrication skills. BTF's own facility is a hi-tech, 33,000 sq. ft. campus in Birmingham, Alabama that includes a fabrication shop, machining shop, corporate suites and a product display space. It's here that the BTF team designs and tests their premium Jeep parts and accessories for quality, durability and ease of use. The other proving ground for BTF's customized fabrications is the race trail and they create custom builds for off-road racers in order to test new products and upgraded designs on current products.
