This kit totally eliminates the problem of broken steering knuckles and studs. The addition of two studs in each arm effectively prevents the steering arm from becoming loose and shearing off the studs. The knuckle housing is also thicker than stock and larger gussets have been added around the outside of the knuckle for extra strength. Precision machined, each knuckle is direct bolt on, heavy duty replacement knuckle.
Trail-Gear is the originator of forged high steer arms for Toyota Pickups and 4Runners. Each arm is pressure Forged from 8620 tool steel, these arms are incredibly strong. All mounting surfaces are machined including the split washer surface and the tie rod tapered holes, ensuring correct and positive contact between parts, preventing knuckle studs and tie rod ends from coming loose. Arms are angle compensated so that the rod ends ride at the factory designed 90 degree angle.

The Tri-Power 3 piston aluminum caliper was originally developed as a inchQuick Change inch caliper to replace the 2 piston floating calipers on the C5 Corvette. Due its overwhelming success we decided to go one step further and make a Tri-Power caliper that would work for 1/2, ? & 1 Ton Trucks. All Tri-Power calipers are made from billet aluminum and consist of 3 stainless steel pistons ranging in sizes from 30mm to a massive 51mm depending on the application. Trail Gear' s Rear Disc Kit ha a 3/8in. thick laser cut caliper bracket with grade 10.9 mounting bolts fro a super strong mounting system. Trail Gear uses the larger GM style calipers that are shipped fully loaded and include GM style vented rotors that were custom made just for this application. The DOT approved brake lines are made so that one end fits the GM calipers and the other end attaches to your OEM Toyota brake lines, so no new fittings are required. This kit does require either a 2 lb. residual valve or the ever popular 1in. bore master cylinder that most pick ups and 4Runners have already had upgraded. Stainless Steel Brakes Sport R1 Plus Disc Brake Conversion Kit
The Sport R1 caliper was developed as a 54mm single piston aluminum caliper with a built in parking brake. Two different versions have been developed, one for cars and one for truck. The car version consists of a forged aluminum housing with stainless steel internals. With an improved design over the popular early GM rear caliper, the Sport R1 caliper uses the same brake pads, slider pins and bushings as this vehicle. The truck version of the Sport R1 (TRK1) features a larger billet aluminum housing, stainless steel internals and uses brake pads, slider pins and bushings from the front caliper of a 95-98 GM 1/2 ton truck. Current applications for this caliper are the 88-99 1/2 ton GM truck and SUV. A must have for better braking and elimination of that factory inchspongy pedal inch feel.
